Day 17: What misconception about kinky people would you most like to clear up?
that we somehow negatively affect our children by being how we are. goodness knows i’ve been on the recieving end of this fear. my sexual life and my mothering life are in no way connected. i make damn sure of that for a reason. my kids don’t need to be seeing that sort of shit. i never bring guys around them (well, i have guys who are friends, that’s different though).
i make sure my kids have a proper sex education by giving them simple age-appropriate information and answering their questions directly. the whole idea that we pevert the children around us, that gets me mad.
OH, and while i’m here, fuck the pro-family organizations. fuck ‘em because they only promote one kind of family, and near-violently oppose any others. i will never have a man come and take over my household, and they’re just going to have to live with that. (this is only marginally related, pardon the digression.)
